Supporting the Community
Marine Harvest Canada believes in helping to build strong communities, near our operations and where our employees live and work. We are proud to support many community organizations including service groups, sports teams, social programs, and salmon enhancement programs.
Our corporate giving policy reflects Marine Harvest’s values of Passion, Change, Trust and Share. We will uphold our values by directing cash and in-kind donations to applicants who subscribe to these values and provide a benefit to our communities.
We will support the fundraising efforts of local groups, service clubs and charities through cash donations or in-kind, which may include fresh Atlantic salmon, used equipment, volunteering and participation in events by employees and their families.
Sorry, we don’t sponsor individuals. We won’t fund travel or hotel costs, or operating costs that may render your organization unsustainable. One more thing we won’t do is provide input or direction to an organization or event that has received our support.
We welcome requests that direct our community investment dollars to conservation initiatives, activities for children and youth, sports and wellness, and poverty relief in the communities where Marine Harvest operates.
Our minimum lead time is one month for in-kind donations, and three months for funding, in order to leverage and communicate the investment to our employees and the community. If you request a major donation (and it’s successful), it is usually deferred to the next calendar year.
You may apply for a cash or in-kind donation by emailing following information to email@example.com
- Event title or group name
- Date and duration of event or activity
- Charitable status (if applicable)
- Previous Marine Harvest donations
- Primary contact for request
- Your donation request
- Any other helpful information
If you would like to fundraise by using the Marine Harvest Salmon BBQ at an event in the spring or summer, please send a request during our application window in February each year. For more information visit: http://www.marineharvest.ca/people/supporting-the-community/bbq-application-form/
Marine Harvest receives more requests each year than it is possible to approve. If you do not hear back from us within 30 days, please consider your application declined for that calendar year.
